Introduction
Most folks expect to find a list of paid staff on a page entitled "Our Ministry
Team". It gives us a great deal of pleasure to tell you that you are not going
to find that here. It is one of the cornorstone principals of this fellowship
that everyone in this Church Family has an assignment from God and it is up to the
individual to determine what that assignment is. The Black Hills Church has
evangelists, teachers, and pastors who are in this family to equip the members to
fulfill their assignment. If you are looking for a place to sit on the pew
and spectate, this is probably not the fellowship for you. If, on the other
hand, you are looking for a place to plug in and work toward the goal of helping
and healing broken people, then the Black Hills fellowship is for you.
Evangelists
Our preaching is done primarily by John Dennis and Mike Druyvestein, though
other men in the congregation may stand before the group on Sunday and proclaim
God's word. Both Mike and John are self supported evangelists.
Pastoring Elders
We strongly believe that the first century churches were autonomous and self governed
by men the Bible calls Pastors, Elders, or Shepherds. The Black Hills Church
is blessed to have two men serving as Elders at the moment. Doug Hacket and
Travis Backman have been functioning as Shepherds of this flock now for a few years
and do a wonderful job of watching out for and caring for the flock.
