Media Technical Information
The majority of our media content is provided in Windows Media Format because it
tends to be best supported by the many different browsers being used currently.
You may have to install a "plugin" if you are not using a later version of Microsoft's
Internet Explorer Browser. For Firefox users, information about installing
that plugin can be found
here. Similar plugins may be available
for other browsers as well.
About Our Podcast

A podcast is a regularly distributed audio or media file sent
over the Internet through Web feeds and downloaded to either a portable media device
or a personal computer. Podcasting allows you to freely subscribe to a program and
receive updated content automatically as it is added. You don't have to have an
iPod to subscribe to podcasts, just a computer, iTunes (or other "Pod Catcher" software)
and access to the Internet.
As mentioned above, in order to subscribe to a podcast, you will first need software
designed to receive podcasts. These software packages are often referred to
as "Pod Catchers" and are usually used for music. However, a rapidly growing
use for the pod catcher software is to pull down audio and video content that has
been published or "podcast". The majority of these pod catcher software packages
are free. By far the most widely used is Apple's iTunes. To download
iTunes, go
here. Another free pod catcher that appears
to work quite well is Miro which can be found
here. We are not associated with Apple
or Miro. They own all rights to their respective software packages and are
responsible for updates and technical assistance.
Once you have your podcatcher installed, you can subscribe to many different kinds
of audio and video content. The Black Hills Church of Christ has published
our audio content for use with pod catcher software, and will soon be publishing
our video content as well. To subscribe to our audio content, use the following:
